'A Taste of Peppers!', Budapest Marriott Hotel, 7 September

From this October Peppers! Mediterranean Grill will serve up Mediterranean and Hungarian specialties, with wines from Italy, Spain and Hungary. The stylish AQVA Lounge Bar will offer tapas style food, pepper dips, cocktails and an amazing selection of mineral waters from all around the world.

Both are located inside the Budapest Marriott Hotel, and at a 'pre-opening-tasting' last Friday the hotel General Manager Robert Grader joined other senior managers to experience Executive Chef Markus Marquardt's in action for a food and wine matchmaking exercise.

David Copp, author of 'Hungary: Its Fine Wines and Winemakers', has been retained to advise on the composition of the Peppers! wine list. He asked some fellow journalists and publishers, including XpatLoop's Stephen Linfitt, to help him try out wines for selected items from the menu. The food was superb, the wine matches too.

Here below are a select photos (taken by Fekete K - click here for more from him) of the open plan kitchen, the relaxing decor and succulent food. We hope you agree that it looks the sort of place to relax and enjoy quality food and wine in style.

Markus' spicy Mediterranean grill foods will enliven any day, and we trust you will find some interesting wines worth a try.
