Patriotism is not determined by viewpoint on the question of dual citizenship, said Prime Minister Ferenc Gyurcsany, opening the conference of "Citizenship and the Right for Free Travel in Europe" on Friday. There are two concurrent views in Hungary on dual citizenship. According to the historically based viewpoint, the right to citizenship is determined by ethnicity. According to the other, ethnicity and citizenship are separate. Citizenship is an active relationship between the citizen and the republic, Gyurcsany said.
