Levi may move plant to Hungary


Citing high labor costs and competitiveness problems, Levi Strauss & Co. have announced plans to shut down two plants in the Spanish towns of Soria and Girona, with Poland, Hungary or possibly Turkey named as potential new locations for these capacities, various wire services reported. According to the reports, Levi's current production in Hungary will definitely not be adversely affected by the move, even if the company picks another country to take over manufacturing from the plants in Spain.

Hungary officially recognises Slovak Tokai vineyards


AN ARGUMENT lasting almost 40 years between Slovakia and Hungary regarding the wine trademark Tokai is coming to an end. The Agriculture Ministers of both countries signed an agreement on June 3 by which Hungary officially recognised that the Tokai vineyard area is also located on Slovak territory.
