1. When did you arrive in Hungary and what brought you here?
September 11, 2006. Have been visiting Budapest for past 10 years with my Hungarian wife, and decided to take the plunge and move to this wonderful city!
2. Have you ever been an expatriate elsewhere?
Yes. I lived in Manchester, UK.
3. What surprised you most about Hungary?
How cash-based the society still is, and the lack of online business transactions for the simple things.
4. Friends are in Budapest for a weekend--what must they absolutely see and do?
Castle Hill, a walk along the Danube from both sides. Farmers market at the end of Vaci.
5. What is your favourite Hungarian food?
Too many to pick just one!
6. What is never missing from your refrigerator?
A homemade dip/dressing we discovered from friends in Szeged. It's heavy on garlic and sour cream and it's a must-have in our refrigerator. Would be happy to share the recipe with anyone interested!

Crunchy peanut butter and bagels.
