When did you arrive in Hungary and what brought you here?

I came in Hungary for a specific request by a joint-venture Hungaro Hotels and Multiservice (Italian Company) for the opening of the firs Italian Restaurant in Budapest called Marco Polo the contract was just for 4 months and was in the May 1989.

Have you ever been an expatriate elsewhere?
Of course all my time I spend to open restaurants and Hotels around the Worlds..First exit Istambul in 1983 Italian Chef Restaurant Samdan Etiler, then,back o Italy To Villa Cortine Sirmiome Garda Lake Sous chef, then Paris Hotel Royal Monceau, sous chef,(by famous Italian chef Angelo Paracucchi). Next place Moscow chef the cuisine (opening first Italian restaurant)Osteria Ferrari By Tino Fontana, next place New York Ex.Chef Ristorante Harry’s Cipriani, next place,Munchen Opening Italian Restaurant Villa Borghese By Sergio Mei(famous Italian Chef), next place, Seoul (88 Olimpic Games)Opening Seoul Grand Hotel By Angelo Paracucchi Italian Chef , next place, Los Angeles, Italian chef in Rex Restaurant Down Town. Next place Budapest Ristorante Marco Polo Italian chef.

What surprised you most about Hungary?
In 1989 I was surprised for the unicity of this place…so quiet, clean,. Simply beautiful and so cheap to live.

Friends are in Budapest for a weekend - what must they absolutely see and do?
Around the city, vár (Castle), Cittadella, Hösök tere, Liget,baths, and of course night life.....don’t forget Fövamtéri Csarnok, Hungarian Tipical Csárda Food., Street “Piaci “food.

What is your favourite Hungarian food?
I have many Favourites, like Goose liver, cabbage types: töltött karalábé, töltött káposzta, etc..

What is never missing from your refrigerator?
A bottle of Prosecco and Parmesan cheese

What is your favourite Hungarian word?
I speak good Hungarian....but Székesfehérvár, was very hard to learn...in the first year.

What do you miss the most from home?
Of course Family, Friends Sea and Mountain..

What career other than yours would you love to pursue?
Winemaker!

What's a job you would definitely never want?
Politics.

Where did you spend your last vacation?
In Italy at home!

Where do you hope to spend your next one?
In July in Italy Sea and Mountain

What was your favourite band, film, or hobby as a teen?
Beatles, Old Italian Films, Walking in the Nature, good wines, god food....so the life with my Family!!

Apart of temptation what can't you resist?
Home Mountain food like Polenta Taragna!!!

Red wine or white?
Red and with the sparkling Included, but also Rosé!!!!

Book or movie?
Cook Book!

Morning person or night person?
Morning person.

Pest side.

What would you say is your personal motto?
Vivi e lascia vivere!
