As of January 2015, Julien Daubas has been appointed Executive Assistant Manager of Le Meridien Budapest. After having taken different responsibilities in Sales and Marketing in Paris and South of France at the Le Meridien Juan les Pins and Le Meridien Nice, Julien moved to Hungary in 2010 to take over the position of Director of Sales and Marketing for Le Meridien Budapest.

Born in France, Mr. Daubas is married with 2 kids.

1. When did you arrive in Hungary and what brought you here?
In May 2010, transferred with Starwood Hotels & Resorts from Le Meridien Nice in South of France

2. Have you ever been an expatriate elsewhere?
Budapest is my first expatriation.

3. What surprised you most about Hungary?
The diversity and the quality of Hungarian wines.

4. Friends are in Budapest for a weekend - what must they absolutely see and do?
A walk through the city on Andrassy Avenue from the city center to the Szechenyi baths to enjoy a unique thermal experience. At night, ruine pubs (kert) are a must!

5. What is your favourite Hungarian food?
Pogácsa with a pint of beer.

6. What is never missing from your refrigerator?
Cheese.

7. What is your favourite Hungarian word?
Jo reggelt !

8. What do you miss the most from home?
French baguette.

9. What career other than yours would you love to pursue?
Author, I like to tell stories.

10. What's a job you would definitely never want?
Accounting.

11. Where did you spend your last vacation?
French Alps for ski.

12. Where do you hope to spend your next one?
Mauritius.

13. What was your favourite band, film, or hobby as a teen?
A book: Crime and punishment.

14. Apart of temptation what can't you resist?
Good food and good wine.

Red.

16. Book or movie?
Book.

17. Morning person or night person?
Definitely night person.

18. Which social issue do you feel most strongly about?
Mine-clearing– the non-governmental organization Handicap International is making a fantastic job in ex conflict zones.

19. Buda side or Pest side?
Pest.

20. What would you say is your personal motto?
Shoot for the moon. Even if you miss you will land among the stars.
