I'm Glenn Douglas, English.
My wife, Cathy, and I arrived here just one year ago, no kids one dog.
We both freelance ( she more than me ) as an English teacher, me an ex-adman and guitar player.Pastimes include drinking a lot of Hungarian beer, followed by a lot of Hungarian wine and Rockn' roll.
We live right on the Danube bank with plenty of walking space for all.
1. When did you arrive in Hungary and what brought you here?
Last March, mainly for Cathy's proffession and because I have Hungarian relatives.
2. Have you ever been an expatriate elsewhere?
Returned from six years in Goa, India.
3. What surprised you most about Hungary?
The last time I was here was in 1976, hardly any shops and all the cars were Ladas. Now it's a whole new planet.
4. Friends are in Budapest for a weekend - what must they absolutely see and do?
The Grand Market and Fishermans Bastion.
5. What is your favourite Hungarian food?
Hortobágyi and all the sausages.
6. What is never missing from your refrigerator?
Beer, cheese and salami. Hungarian all.

8. What do you miss most from home?
Zilch
9. What career other than yours would you love to pursue?
Wine taster
10. What's a job you would definitely never want?
Pub owner. I've been there, done that.
11. Where did you spend your last vacation?
Pondicherry, a lost French enclave on the east coast of India.
12. Where do you hope to spend your next holiday?
Maybe northern Italy
13. What was your favourite band, film, or hobby as a teen?
Beatles, Stones, Yardbirds. Hard Day's Night. Playing guitar in a band.
14. What can't you resist?
Playing guitar in a band.
15. Red wine or white?
Red, unless it's a scorching summer, then white with some good fish.
16. Book or movie?
Movies. We write our own books.
17. Morning person or night person?
Nocturnal
18. Dog person or cat person?
Dog, we brought ours from India.
19. Buda or Pest side?
Pest, no hills to cycle up.
20. What would you say is your personal motto?
Never too old to Rock n' Roll
