"The Kecskemet and Area Multipurpose Association was established on June 30, 2004, as the successor of the Kecskemet and Area Development and Local Government Association established in June 1996.Local governments of the following 18 localities joined forces in developing the region and helping their citizens succeed: Agasegyhaza, Balloszog, Felsolajos, Fulophaza, Helvecia, Jakabszallas, Kecskemet, Kerekegyhaza, Kunbaracs, Ladanybene, Lajosmizse, Lakitelek, Nyarlorinc, Orgovany, Szentkiraly, Tiszakecske, Tiszaug, and Varosfold.
During the 11th Hiros Week Festival, August 18 – 24, 2008, the above localities will introduce their produce and products, their agricultural goods and crafts at the Horticulture Expo and Food Show on the Main Square, Kecskemet. This year’s theme for the Expo will be the traditions of August 20, the "Day of the New Bread": the wheat, the harvest, and bread making, showcasing traditional tools and utensils linked to these.
Fringe event of the Expo is the 9th Agricultural Forum, on Thursday, August 21, between 9.00 AM and 12.00 noon, at the Ferenc Erdei Cultural and Conference Center (Erdei Ferenc Kulturális és Konferencia Központ). A general discussion forum for the agricultural and farming communities, the meeting will address farming and rural issues in the Microregion and current tender opportunities for the community.
Another important parallel event, the Tourism Forum will be held on Friday, August 22, between 9.00 AM and 1.00 PM, at the Granada Conference Wellness and Sport Hotel (Granada Konferencia, Wellness és Sporthotel). Attendants of the Tourism Forum will be able to learn about tenders for the tourism industry, and to meet an artisan of the region. A guest speaker from a neighboring country is also invited.
As it has been the tradition for years, every day new localities will get a chance to introduce themselves. After a brief address by the local mayor, crafts exhibits, tasting of local produce, and cultural productions will introduce guests to the local treasures, as it follows:

The Horticulture Expo and Food Show provides an opportunity to the local farmer community and artisans to market their produce and products and thus enhance their sales, and it is also an outstanding opportunity to expand their network, promoting regional cohesion.
