Now showing: 'Disturbia'

Now showing: 'Disturbia'
"After his father’s death, Kale becomes sullen, withdrawn, and troubled - so much so that he finds himself under a court-ordered sentence of house arrest. His mother, Julie, works night and day to support herself and her son, only to be met with indifference and lethargy.”

Movie type: Thriller - "Disturbia" is slow paced for close to half the movie as it sets up the story and introduces the characters. The story then changes to fast paced and suspenseful. I was on the edge of my seat for much of the second half.

Director: D.J. Caruso

Script: Christopher B. Landon, Carl Ellsworth

Starring: Shia LaBeouf (Kale), Carrie-Anne Moss (Julie), David Morse (Mr. Turner)

Length: 1 hr. 45 min.

Reviews:

”Above Average Disturbia doesn't have the material to be memorable, but it is watchable and the subject matter holds an undeniable fascination.” Berardinelli, Internet Critic

”Good Offsetting the chilly voyeurism is a viable teen romance and an appealing sense of humor. Though there are occasional lapses in logic, Disturbia is consistently suspenseful and entertainingly disturbing.” USA Today

”Above Average And then the house-of-horrors stuff starts: It's crowd-pleasing in a lazy way, but it belongs in a different, dumber movie.” TV Guide Online

”Above Average 'Disturbia' still boasts a scrappy charm, even when you wish Morse and Moss were handed lines with as much zip as those given the younger actors.” Newsday
