Barnier Opens French Week In Shops

Barnier Opens French Week In Shops
"Declaring that “EU citizens are increasingly devoted to quality and the safety of supply,” French Agriculture and Fisheries Minister Michael Barnier opened French Week in a local outlet of French-owned hypermarket chain Cora and related supermarket chain Match.

Barnier and Agriculture Minister József Gráf jointly declared that EU agriculture policy should secure the independence of the EU and its food safety, alongside rural development.

Hungary was selected as the first country to host a French Year series of events, which Barnier’s visit in part is promoting, said Vincent Roussel, chairman of the French-Hungarian Chamber of Commerce.

So far 380 French companies have come to Hungary and employ 55,000 people, he added. French companies have invested €4.5 billion in Hungary, making it the fourth largest foreign investor nation."
