Budapest Airport Hands Over Minibus Service To Credit Expo

Budapest Airport Hands Over Minibus Service To Credit Expo
"Budapest Airport (BA) has announced on Friday that after the signing of the sales contract of the minibus business unit with Credit Expo Kft. the new owner took over the operation of the minibus service on 1 January, 2008.

According to the Service Agreement Credit Expo undertakes among others the following service commitments:

The upgrade of the Minibus fleet with the immediate introduction of 30 new air-conditioned 14-seat buses.

Customer friendly ticket sales via internet, phone and other means. From February 2008 clients will be able to buy their ticket from anywhere in the world.

Fleet control and deployment with the help of GPS.

The transition is due to be concluded by the end of February and from spring the passengers will enjoy a completely renewed service.

“BA made the decision to divest the business unit because it needs to focus on the core business of the airport operation. The minibus service is not closely linked to the duties of an airport operator. It can be managed better and more effectively by a specialized service company," BA said in a statement.

The terms and conditions of the more than 200 employees working in the minibus service remain to be governed by the existing collective agreement of Budapest Airport. The contract was signed after consultation with the employee representatives who agreed to the transaction."
