"GK-Hönnun, Iceland‘s largest engineering firm and a partner of Hungary's PannErgy, has founded a subsidiary in Hungary.The Icelandic company set up the subsidiary “towards the efficient and professional attendance of specialized tasks in the region, particularly in Hungary," PannErgy (formerly Pannonplast) said in a statement on Thursday.
In the near future, the new company will engage 15 engineers and scientific associates mainly from Hungary, while on the medium run this headcount is foreseen to be completed to 30 employees, it added.
“VGK-Hönnun aims at putting its international professional expertise into service to contribute to the exploitation of the opportunities that are existent in this geographical region, including Hungary, featuring extraordinary geothermal endowments."
VGK-Hönnun was formed in 2007 with the merger of Verkfræðistofa Gumundar og Kristjáns hf. (VGK) and Hönnun hf. Employees after the merger totalled about 250.
VGK-Hönnun has operations in nine locations in Iceland country, including two in Reykjavík."
