Orbán Becomes More Popular, PM Stagnates
"Hungary's main opposition party Fidesz President Viktor Orbán's popularity has grown, while Socialist Prime Minister Ferenc Gyurcsány has remained as “popular" in January as in the previous month, the latest poll of Szonda Ipsos showed on Monday.

The list is led by President László Sólyom, while the least liked politician is Health Minister Ágnes Horváth.

As Viktor Orbán increased his popularity by one point and Ferenc Gyurcsány has failed to move either up or down, the gap between them grew to 17 points. The last time Szonda Ipsos observed a larger difference between the two prominent figures of the Hungarian political scene was in April 2007 (18 points). While Orbán is positioned in the first third of the popularity ranking, the PM is in the last.

President László Sólyom is the most popular politician in Hungary, with 50 points, up by 2 points from a month ago, according to the pollster, while the least liked figure remained Health Minister Ágnes Horváth with 20 points, followed by former Economic Minsiter János Kóka (26 pts) and the PM (28 pts).
