"HírTV and Magyar Nemzet claim to have a document, a statement and a signature that prove that bogus votes were cast in the Free Democrat party leadership contest last year, Magyar Nemzet reports. The minutes of the party convention, held at the Municipal Court, include a signature which must be fake, the newspaper claims, as it purports to be that of Sándor Vági, who said he did not take part in the convention on March 30-31, 2007. However, signatures in the names of Sándor Vági and his wife appear on the convention attendance sheet. The Free Democrats claim that the minutes were destroyed. Vági’s true signature does not resemble the one on the attendance sheet, Magyar Nemzet writes.
János Kóka was elected party leader by one vote over rival Gábor Fodor in a second round of balloting, the newspaper recalls.
Kóka and Fodor deny the allegations and have repeatedly threatened to sue HírTV unless it broadcasts a correction."
