"From 30 March and the introduction of the summer timetable the Hungarian national carrier Malév is increasing the number of its flights from Stuttgart to Budapest from one a day on weekdays to two. These services will be covered by leased 50-seater Saab2000 aircraft. The new scheduling raises to 12 per week the number of Malév flights between the two cities.
The morning and evening Stuttgart services allow Hungarian travellers to arrange their business affairs in the German city in a single day, if so required. The good news for customers from Germany is that the new timetable opens up further opportunities for onward travel via Budapest to Malév network destinations in Southern and Eastern Europe.
Starting from the summer 2008 timetable period, Malév operates a total of 46 flights a week between Budapest and four cities in Germany: Berlin, Frankfurt, Hamburg and Stuttgart. Last year the Hungarian national airline carried over 300,000 passengers between the two countries. Furthermore, the company registered an increase of 4% on the Stuttgart line in the first two months of this year.
Parallel with its increased Stuttgart frequency Malév is cancelling its Munich service from the beginning of the summer timetable. The airline has published the new timetable so the new flights are already accessible on the reservation system.
