"In the early months of the year Malév has been promoting the first anniversary of its alliance membership and the airline's frequent flyer programme with the "One year in oneworld" competition, and the benefits of online ticket booking with the "e-Malév" competition.Partly as a result of these programmes, not only has the number of passengers carried by Malév risen but there has also been a sizeable (more than 6000) increase in frequent flyer membership.
The online campaigns have successfully boosted sales in the relatively quiet early months of the year. The oneworld loyalty "recruitment" competition continues until 31 May.
Whereas the "e-Malév" competition primarily encouraged a take-up in ticket sales, so far the "One year with oneworld" quiz has attracted more than 6000 new frequent flyers to the Malév loyalty programme, which this year has topped 100,000 members.
Anyone can become a member of the frequent flyer club at the homepage of the oneworld competition running until the end of May; this is the first time that online registrations are being accepted for the Duna Club. Current frequent flyers and new recruits have been (and still are) asked to answer questions on the oneworld airline alliance and the many advantages of alliance membership.
Winners of round one of the "One year with oneworld" and the "e-Malév" competitions were drawn in the presence of a notary public. They receive business and economy class return tickets for European destinations, frequent flyer Bonus Points and Malév gift packages.
Full details of the oneworld competition can be found at www.malev.hu/oneworld."
