Dressed smartly in a black velvet dress with a white lace collar, black patent leather shoes and a bow in her hair, she went with her father to see The Bartered Bride, the comic opera by Bedrich Smetana.
Davidson doesn't recall the performance but remembers how it made her feel: "My love affair with the arts began that day."
