"Boris Abramovich, Chairman of Malév Hungarian Airlines, has on Friday held talks with Katalin Szili, Speaker of the Parliament, on the potential purchase of the Pécs-Pogány Airport in southern Hungary.“This could be a good project for Malév, but any decision on the acquisition or the operation (of the Pécs-Pogány Airport) may be brought only in light of analyses and calculations about the profitability of the investment," local newswire MTI cited the Russian businessman as saying.
The Pécs-Pogány Airport is operated by the municipalities of Pécs and Baranya County.
Szili and Péter Tasnádi, the mayor of Pécs, both said after the one-hour meeting with Abramovich that they were hopeful the airport would raise the businessman's interest, adding that there was a good chance for a deal to be sealed."
