So far it has been the privilege of only the participants and the jury to taste the different pörkölts cooked on the SzeptEmber Feszt, but only so far.
In 2008 the festival offers something brand new, never before seen: the organizers make the Pörkölt Parade possible, the event will be held under the patronage of the Hungarian National White Table Order of Knighthood and several famous master chefs and their restaurants will participate in it. This is the first Hungarian gastronomic show where – just like in the case of other trade fairs - the subject of the matter can be tasted, furthermore at the same time and place.
But the Pörkölt Parade is not only the main attraction of the event SeptEmber Feszt 2008; it is also a national gastronomic event that goes well behind of being an interesting program. The restaurants participating in the SeptEmber Feszt 2008 event and the promotions after it decided to keep the extremely varied types of pörkölt cooked and tasted during the festival on their menu for months, thus ensuring that the deserved international attention towards this determining Hungarian meal is kept up.
The aim of the Pörkölt Parade, in which trade experts will assist, is to show the audience the quality, diversity and delights of pörkölt.
The new event of the Pörkölt Parade will renew the image of the SeptEmber Feszt, but naturally there will be other, regular attractions too: visitors are welcomed by the PerifériArt, the Hungarian Record Holders, the cooking competition of public figures, the children’s’ programs and performances on three stages, while the range of food offered has been considerably widened.
