"Hungary will soon have an uninterrupted motorway to the Adriatic Sea, with the inauguration on Tuesday of a 15km stretch of the M7 motorway between Balatonkeresztúr and Zalakomár. Prime Minster Ferenc Gyurcsány and Transport Minister Pál Szabó were on hand for the ceremony.Completion of this last section was delayed by some months as one of the consortium members declared bankruptcy.
The Adriatic Sea will be directly accessible on the motorway in October after completion of a bridge spanning the Mura River near the Croatian border. The bridge construction costs are shared equally by the two countries.
Also on Tuesday, Gyurcsány and his Slovenian counterpart opened a section of motorway and a border crossing on the Tornyiszentmiklós-Pince section of the M70/A5 motorways. The links provide direct access between Maribor and Budapest.
There are not yet any petrol stations on the M7 between Siófok and the Croatian border. The first such station will open in November in Balatonkeresztúr."
