Skytrax Award For Malév Flight Attendants

Skytrax Award For Malév Flight Attendants
"Air travellers consider Malév cabin staff the best among the airlines of Eastern Europe, according to the latest annual Skytrax survey of carriers.

Skytrax, which is one of the most trusted independent organizations reviewing service quality in the airline industry, questioned more than 15 million passengers from 95 nations globally, asking what they thought of the services supplied by the world's airlines.

The best in the industry awards in a total of 69 categories are granted on the basis of the responses of travellers, on a global scale and by continent or region. In 12 categories oneworld member airlines were voted as the bests: British Airways, LAN, Qantas, Cathay Pacific and Malév. The "World’s Best Cabin Staff Survey” was conducted by the London office of Skytrax.

In the course of a survey carried out online, by phone, in person and in small groups, more than 3.8 million interviews were staged. The authenticity and high professional standard of the survey is clearly evident in the fact that 229,000 responses were judged invalid, for instance because they were not considered sufficiently impartial.

The questionnaire on cabin staff examined the work of flight attendants and traveller satisfaction from 16 different aspects. For example, Skytrax quizzed air travellers on how friendly, sincere and courteous cabin staff were, on staff grooming and presentation, their language skills, service efficiency, their problem-solving capabilities, and the survey also sought an answer as to how ready staff were to answer the call bell during the flight.

The high quality of Malév's flight attendants has already been recognized by several important awards presented in the recent past. This January the CEO of Malév travelled to New York to collect the Best Airline in Eastern Europe title from American Global Traveler magazine, the second time in succession the company has received this prestigious tribute, and once again Hungarian journal Az utazó (Traveller) rated Malév Airline of the Year. Malév has also launched a programme designed specifically for its flight attendants in order to maintain and further develop the onboard services that have been recognized at international level. The essence of the programme is that the company management evaluates the work of cabin staff not only on the basis of feedback from customers but also on the professional opinion of colleagues. As part of this, every year Malév arranges an in-house presentation to honour those staff members supplying the highest standards of service at work.

The Skytrax named oneworld member airlines in 12 categories as the bests.

Some of the best airlines in the Skytrax survey:

Airline of the Year - Singapore Airlines
Best First Class - Cathay Pacific - oneworld member
Best Economy Class - Asiana Airlines
Best Airline Australasia - Qantas - oneworld member
Best Airline South-America - LAN - oneworld member
Best Airline Transatlantic - British Airways - oneworld member
