Now showing in Budapest: 'The Rocker'

Now showing in Budapest: 'The Rocker'
THE ROCKER,” aka Robert “Fish” Fishman, was the drummer for an eighties hair band. He was living the rock ‘n’ roll dream… until he was kicked out of the group. Twenty years later, the desperate rocker joins his nephew’s band, “A.D.D.,” finally reclaiming the rock-god throne he’s always thought he deserved..."

“Movie type: Comedy - This is a silly comedy aimed at an older teen and young adult audience, particularly males. Fans of lead Rainn Wilson will have a lot to save here though some other known comic actors such as Christina Applegate and Will Arnett don't have much screen time. There is some mildly suggestive humor.

Director: Peter Cattaneo

Script: Maya Forbes, Wallace Wolodarsky

Starring: Rainn Wilson (Robert Fishman), Christina Applegate, Jane Lynch

Length: 1 hr. 42 min.

Reviews:

“Average The Rocker provides us with a stack of lifeless, canned heavy metal "originals" and expects us to believe we're hearing works of genius.“ Berardinelli, Internet Critic

“Below Average It's never too late to rock. That's why audiences would be better served staying home and playing Rock Band than wasting their time on something as leaden and unfunny as The Rocker.” USA Today

“Good aside from an extended shot of Wilson's naked butt and a few rock-and-roll antics, the movie's is really good, clean fun that's fine for slightly older kids and a lot of fun for adults.” TV Guide Online

“Above Average 'The Rocker' qualifies as a B-side, but it still makes for a passable summer single.” Newsday
