"Trading in 13 equities, including OTP bank, was suspended on the Budapest Stock Exchange yesterday because their price fell by at least 10%.Among the larger declines, Econet shares were down 9.5%, those of Állami Nyomda by 9.1%, TVK was off 7.5% and Synergon by 7.1%.
The BUX index was down 5.7% overall yesterday, a relatively small decline compared to falls of nearly 20% in Moscow, 12% in Norway, 9% in France and Italy, and 8% in the UK, Germany and Sweden, Napi Gazdaság observes. All East European EU members remained relatively stable, with stock indices down 8.5% in Prague, and 5.4% in both Warsaw and Bucharest."
