The number of refugees asking for asylum in Hungary may increase significantly from May 1st as according to EU legislation asylum is to be granted in the country where the refugee first enters the Community – writes the Hungarian daily newspaper Népszabadság. According to Zsuzsanna Végh, director-general of the Immigration and Citizenship Office of the Interior Ministry, fingerprints of refugees seeking asylum will also have to be taken apart from the demanded personal data, which will then be registered in the EU database.
