The Environment and Water Ministry plans to spend Ft 8 billion on a flood prevention program for the Tisza river region, according to Miklós Varga, head of the ministry's water office.The program, known as the "Vásárhelyi plan," will start at the end of April, when emergency water storage areas will be selected and the flood plains along the Tisza will be widened to lower the potential water level.
