State secretary at the Agriculture Ministry Tibor Szányi said that following the successful completion of an inspection of the country's meat industry, Hungarian companies could resume meat exports to the U.S. from Apr. 24.The proper authorities have already issued export delivery licenses to meatpackers Pápai Hús Rt and Kapuvári Hús Rt. On Jan. 13, the U.S. Department of Agriculture struck Hungary from the list of countries allowed to deliver meat to the U.S. on food safety concerns for an indefinite period. U.S. food authorities plan to inspect the fingered companies again in autumn. (Econews; Nv 5, MH 10, Nb 15)
