Israeli bank eyes Hungarian entry

Israel's second largest bank, Bank Leumi, is planning to open a branch in Budapest in the near future, according to Israeli daily Haaretz. The new branch will have no employees except Oded Shorer, husband of Israel's ambassador to Hungary, Judith Varnai Shorer.

Shorer was formerly worked as a business journalist at a daily paper. The State Financial Institutions' Supervision has not been contacted by Bank Leumi in connection with the new opening yet, according to PSZÁF's press department. (Vg 14) R.G.
