Hungarian airline Malév Rt has turned its website into a travel portal, sales director Ervin Nemes said. The new portal offers a range of travel services, including online hotel reservations, car hire and a web shop. By 2005, travelers will be able to buy electronic plane tickets and train tickets at the portal as well. The portal, which is expected to become Hungary's premier travel site on the web, is expected to generate more than twice as much revenue as a portal offering just one travel service would. For Ft 250 million will also strip out its Sita Gabriel booking system with the Amadeus system in November, as a condition of its membership in the SkyTeam alliance. (Econews; NG 5, Nv 11, MH 11,)
