The number of mobile phone subscriptions rose by 0.77% month on month in June and by 12.43% in annual terms, the National Communications Authority (NCA) reported on Wednesday.
The total number of subscriptions at the end of June was 8.208 million with the number of subscriptions actually generating traffic totalled 7.55 million, the NCA said.
In terms of mobile subscriptions the market share of Vodafone went up to 18.13% in June from 17.85% in May, and the market share of T-Mobile (ex-Westel) rose slightly to 47.68% from 47.63%. The market share of Pannon GSM decreased to 34.19% from 34.52%.
In terms of subscriptions actually generating traffic Vodafone’s share was 17.99% at the end of June (17.73% in May). T-Mobile’s market share was 47.76% (47.80% in May) and Pannon’s share came in at 34.25% (34.47% in May), the NCA said.
