The Budapest Transport Company (BKV Rt) and Siemens Combino Budapest Consortium will sign the agreement on Siemens supplying 40 trams to the transport company tomorrow after months of delay.Siemens won BKV’s tender last year but the trams the company offered had mechanical problems. According to the renegotiated agreement, Siemens will provide BKV with 40 trams for Ft 6 billion less. As the trams will put into operation with a considerable delay, in March 2006, the company will also pay BKV Euro 10 million in penalty. (Nv 4) R.G.
