The U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has ordered the recall of 297 Nabi Rt buses from the road for safety reasons, Bloomberg reported on Tuesday. Managing Director of Hungarian bus maker NABI András Bodor played down the recall, saying that "nothing extraordinary has happened, this is part of regular business procedures". Mr Bodor added that there had been problems with a part of the buses' power steering system made by the U.S. company Eaton Hydraulics and they had to be replaced. Under NHTSA rules, NABI must pay for the parts to be replaced. Mr Bodor said NABI would bill Eaton Hydraulics for the replacements. (Econews; Vg 18)
