Parliament votes down capital gains tax

MPs yesterday voted down the reintroduction of a 25% capital gains tax in 2005, with the junior coalition partner Free Democrats voting with the opposition against the cabinet’s proposal. The result means that the capital gains tax motion has been removed from the tax amendment proposals for 2005.
