Hungary's government will raise pensions by an annual average of HUF 57,000 in 2005, government spokesman András Batiz announced after Wednesday's cabinet meeting.
Batiz said pensions would be increased by 6.3% on 1 January, which corresponds to an average monthly rise of HUF 3,550, local newswire MTI reported.
The pension rise will cost the budget HUF 117 billion, Batiz added.
