Europeans don't want violent TV for Xmas-survey |
Europeans would like to see TV violence banned during the Christmas season, according to a poll of viewers in 11 countries, and would forsake sports for a good family movie.
According to an 11-country survey conducted by UPC, Europe's largest cable television provider, two-thirds of the viewers want TV violence banished during the holiday season, with Hungarians and Poles leading in their opposition.
Less than half of Romanians and Swedes wanted a ban.
The survey also showed that 60 percent of Europeans would watch family-oriented films during the holidays with only 12 percent planning to catch live sports.
The survey of 5,000 Europeans was conducted for UPC by Research International.
