Hotels in Hungary operated with a 60% room occupancy in 2004, a 5 percentage point rise over 2003, the Central Statistics Office (KSH) said on Friday. The number of hotels involved in data reporting rose to 182 from 163 during the year.
The occupancy rate in all hotels examined was 61.8% in the first 11 months of the year.
Revenues of Hungarian hotels rose by 12.9% year-on-year in 2004, a minor slowdown from a 13.1% growth rate in the first 11 months of the year.
Gross average room rate (Gross ARR) was HUF 13,878 in 2004, a rise of about HUF 200 over 2003 at current prices.
The number of guest nights went up by 10.4% in 2004, picking up from a 10.2% rise in the first 11 months of the year.
