Siemens Rt has been excluded from the tender of Hungarian Railways MÁV Rt to supply trains for its suburban lines, according to unnamed sources. MÁV announced the tender last September and will spend Ft 40 billion on the purchase of new trains.MÁV is likely to continue its talks with three companies: French Alstom, Canadian Bombardier and Swiss Stadler. According to news, Siemens could not meet to MÁV’s technical requirements and the currently running Siemens trains between Budapest and Esztergom did not live up to the company’s hopes.
