Finance Minister Tibor Draskovics, István Kolber, Minister without portfolio responsible for regional development, and Tamás Erdei, President of the Hungarian Banking Association, signed a letter of intent for the so-called Fészekrakó programme. The government aims at helping the housing problems of young people with the programme.Draskovics said the programme will provide help to three groups:
· For those with higher income but without flat
· For those who are ready to do with a more modest flat
· For those who are unable to buy flat but would consider a supplement to their housing costs as a big help
Kolber said HUF 276 billion will be available in the 2005 budget to finance various kinds of housing measures.
