Hungarian railways MÁV Rt, which owns the tracks in Hungary, has been holding back a competitor train on the border with Ukraine for the third day in a row, the Ministry of Economics said yesterday, adding that a ministry official was traveling to the border to learn more. The train is owned by a private Hungarian rail company called MMV, and although it had been granted authorization to use public rails, MÁV argues that this did not include industrial track under its management. The ministry said MMV had offered to pay for track use, but MÁV had not responded to the offer and had denied them access to the track. (MTI; NG 4)
