Better to be poor in NZ than in Germany says survey
A new survey of state pensions in affluent nations shows that it may be better to be poor in retirement in New Zealand than in Germany.
The Pensions at a Glance survey, just released by Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) says that only New Zealand and Ireland outperform the United States in re-distributing income to their poorest retirees, because they have simple flat-rate state pensions.
