Hungarian oil and gas company MOL said it suspended the Zhaik I well in the Federovsky Block in northern Kazakhstan after tests disappointed.
"Due to mechanical limitations of using test equipment in the small diameter well-bore, only limited volumes of well fluids were produced. For safety and mechanical reasons, standard drill stem testing was not an option," MOL said.
MOL was preparing to drill its remaining well in the 2,400 square kilometre block, in which it holds a 27.5 percent stake, and anticipated additional drilling in the Zhaik structure, it added in a statement to the Budapest Stock Exchange.
