"Old" and "young" Socialist Party senior party officials on Friday agreed that the national election committee, which will run the party until the next elections, should be supplemented with young party officials. The proposal will be passed at the July 4 party convention. Meanwhile the executive committee members will retain their posts.
A re-election of executive committee members will only be held once Parliament passes next year’s budget, possibly in November. A convention that same month will elect a prime ministerial candidate and pass the party’s national list.
