"Miklós Andrási, an European MP candidate of Hungary's major right-wing party Fidesz, will be named as the new President and CEO of financially struggling state railways company MÁV, news portal Index claimed.Interestingly, the government has allegedly chosen another Buda-Cash officer to oversee railway reform as a Government Commissioner: Károly Antali, a supervisory board member at the same brokerage.
If Andrási is indeed the new candidate, Prime Minister Gordon Bajnai has chosen a businessman very close to opposition leader Fidesz.
He is not only a founding member of the party, but is also listed as an European MP candidate on the joint list of Fidesz and the Christian Democrats - even if listed only at the 46th place.
The likely rationale behind his appointment is to prevent another change of direction at MÁV in 10 months when Fidesz is likely to take over the government seats."
