Now Showing In Budapest: 'District 9'
"Wikus van der Merwe works for the MNU which is an organization that keeps non-humans in a small camp called District 9. When he has to move the aliens to a new camp, he contracts an alien virus that starts changing his DNA. Now he is being hunted down and the only place he has to hide is in District 9."

Movie type: Sci-Fi - This is a violent science fiction film that has a lot of action and effects but also some serious commentary on real-world issues. As such, the film has some older appeal than most films of the genre but the violence and language make this one not for kids or sensitive viewers.

Director: Neill Blomkamp

Script: Neill Blomkamp, Terri Tatchell

Starring: Sharlto Copley (Wikus), Jason Cope (Grey Bradnam), Nathalie Boltt (Sarah Livingstone)

Length: 2 hr. 22 min.

Reviews:

Berardinelli, Internet Critic: “Very Good District 9 ends in a way that is both satisfying and unsettling. Although the story is told, there are untilled ground and unanswered questions - not the least of which is what will happen in three years.”
Roger Ebert: “Good 'District 9' does a lot of things right, including giving us aliens to remind us not everyone who comes in a spaceship need be angelic, octopod or stainless steel.”
USA Today: “Very Good District 9 proves that sci-fi thrillers don't have to be star-studded or mega-budgeted to be visually compelling and thoroughly entertaining.”
