Hungary Drug Subsidy Spending Grows Again In Dec 09
"Hungary’s drugs subsidy budget has deteriorated in December 2009 compared to the same month of 2008, detailed public sector data published by the Finance Ministry showed on Tuesday. The HUF 16.54 bn spending increase in the first 11 months from the same period of 2008 rose to HUF 17.4 bn in Jan-Dec 2009.

A total of HUF 31.36 bn were spent on drug subsidies from the budget in December and the 12-month trailing data shows an increase after a break in the rising trend in November over the previous months. Altogether, the situation of the drug subsidy budget has deteriorated further in the last month of the year.

The time-proportionate spending was up by HUF 17.4 bn from 2008, after a turnaround in the past months’ unfavourable trend in Nov (HUF 16.54 bn vs. HUF 17.34 in Oct)."
