Now Showing In Budapest: 'The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus'
"Dr. Parnassus has been gambling with the devil, Mr. Nick for centuries. He made a deal with the devil when he met his one true love, giving his daughter to Mr. Nick when she reached her 16th birthday. Now Mr. Nick is coming to take her. Dr. Parnassus must fight to save his daughter."

Movie type: Adventure Fantasy Mystery - This is a weird, effects-heavy fantasy for fans of director Terry Gilliam's surreal style. Fans of the stars who fill in for the late Heath Ledger at various points (Johnny Depp, Jude Law, and Colin Farrell) may be disappointed by their limited screen time. The film may be too intense for young children.

Director: Terry Gilliam

Script: Terry Gilliam, Charles McKeown

Starring: Christopher Plummer (Dr. Parnassus), Johnny Depp (Tony), Heath Ledger (Tony), Colin Farrell (Tony)

Length: 2 hr. 2 min.

Reviews:

Berardinelli, Internet Critic: “Above Average The movie suffers from uneven pacing, with the first half dragging before things pick up for the imaginative second portion. The narrative is also somewhat thin,...”

USA Today: “Good Imaginarium may spin at times into bewildering territory, but it's still an inspired adventure.”
