Soccer-Hungary squad for Bulgaria, Croatia qualifiers

Hungary's German coach Lothar Matthaeus has named a 24-man squad for the World Cup Group Eight qualifiers against Bulgaria and Croatia in October.


Ujpest striker Peter Rajczi has pulled out of the ties against Bulgaria in Sofia on October 8 and at home to Croatia four days later because of a muscle injury that could sideline him for several weeks.

Hungary are third in the group and have no chance of qualification.

Squad:

Goalkeepers: Gabor Kiraly (Crystal Palace), Marton Fulop(Tottenham), Balazs Raboczki (FC Kobenhavn)

Defenders: Laszlo Bodnar (Roda), Balazs Nikolov (Debrecen), Laszlo Eger (Debrecen), Zoltan Balog (Ferencvaros), Gabor Gyepes (Wolwerhampton), Peter Stark (Gyori ETO), Vilmos Vanczak (Ujpest)

Midfielders: Akos Takacs (Ferencvaros), Szabolcs Huszti (Metz), Zoltan Boor (Manisaspor), Akos Buzsaky (Plymouth), Peter Halmosi (Debrecen), Tamas Hajnal (St. Truiden), Zoltan Gera (West Bromwich), Gyorgy Korsos (Rapid Wienna), Zsolt Baranyos (Vasas Budapest)
