Broadband In Hungary Spread Quickly In 2009
"The number of active mobile subscriptions grew 19,000 to 10.95 million in January, the communications authority NHH announced. The number subscriptions per 100 stood at 118.2 at the end of January, below its peak of 121.8 at the end of 2008.


Among operators, T-Mobile’s share of all subscriptions fell last month to 43.23% from 43.41%, while Pannon’s rose from 34.52% to 34.68% and Vodafone’s grew from 22.07% in December to 22.09%.

Parallel to the increase of mobile phone usage, landline subscriptions fell 200,000 in 2009.

Last year saw a rapid spread in the use of mobile internet and broadband internet. The number of broadband internet subscriptions rose by 25,000 in December and by 230,000 in 2009 to 1.74 million."
