"This Year’s top level international poker tournament in Budapest at the LAS VEGAS CASINO of Budapest.Beginning March 4th – the 7th Unibet.com in association with Las Vegas Casino will host the Budapest Unibet Texas Hold ’Em Poker Open 2010. To date, this event will feature the 2nd highest prize pool ever in Hungarian Poker Tournament history.
This is the second annual event that Budapest is hosting for UNIBET’s Europian travel tournament. Last year, also in March ’09 TROPICANA CASINO hosted the event . With great success. The first place winner of a 360 person field, took home 135,000 Euros.
Satellites for the event have already begun. A total of 460 participants are expected with a total purse of 690,000 Euros, 186 Million Forint.
Out of the 460 seats, 344 have already been spoken for with more than 26 nationalities represented.
It appears that this Unibet Poker Open Budapest Tournament will turn out to be the 2nd largest poker event in Hungarian history.
This world class event will feature some of Hungary’s poker luminaries including MAJAROS PETER, MAJKA, GÁLL ZSOMBOR, Budapest Poker Open’s last year’s winner, KALO DÉNES the 2008 EPT Monte Carlo 2nd place, as well as many internationally recognized poker professionals.
The women will also be well represented. SZILASI VIKTÓRIA, the first sponsored Hungarian female poker professional, who placed well in last year’s Unibet event. POLGAR KRISZTA and FREIE SZILVIA, both with extensive appearances on the poker scene will also be in attendance. A surprise guest from the international field is MADS MIKKELSEN – who plays Le Chiffre, James Bond’s antagonist in casino Royale.
