Now Showing In Budapest: 'Edge of Darkness'
"When a homicide detective's daughter is killed in his home, he assumes he was the target. But he soon learns that his daughter was the target and he searches for why this happened. This search leads him to a shadowy government operative, who has been sent in to clean up the evidence."

Movie type: Drama Thriller - Despite the action-packed advertising campaign, this is a slow, dark, and talky crime and conspiracy drama. Those expecting a traditional Mel Gibson action thriller will be very disappointed. Violent content and language make the film inappropriate for children.

Director: Martin Campbell

Script: William Monahan, Andrew Bovell

Starring: Mel Gibson (Thomas Craven), Caterina Scorsone (Melissa Conway), Danny Huston (Bennett), Ray Winstone (Darius Jedburgh)

Length: 1 hr. 48 min.

Reviews:

Berardinelli, Internet Critic: “Average This is 2010's first big cinematic disappointment - instead of a tense, tightly-plotted thriller, we're saddled with a lumbering misfire.”

Roger Ebert: “Above Average I explain this not merely to avoid discussing the off-the-shelf thriller plot, but to illustrate that "Edge of Darkness," like so many recent thrillers, has no ambition to be taken seriously.”

USA Today: “Good Though the experience is nerve-racking and cathartic under Campbell's skilled direction, musings on family and grief and Gibson's intense, but subtle, performance stay with us longest.”

Dallas News: “Above Average Moviegoers can rest easy. Mel Gibson is back in the business of starring in violent, paranoid thrillers. Back in the business of starring in movies period.”
