"Budapest's Ferihegy International Airport saw a total of 96,200 flights landing and taking off in the January-September period, 17% more than in Q1-Q3 2004, the Central Statistics Office (KSH) said on Friday.""Commercial flights totalled 88,600, 42% of which belonged to the national airline Malév.
The number of passengers at Ferihegy jumped by 28% year on year to 6.2 million in the first nine months, while the domestic airline's passenger numbers have not changed considerable from a year earlier.
The number of passengers on scheduled flights grew by 34% year on year in Q1-Q3. Discount airlines had 182% more passengers in January-September than in the corresponding period of 2004. Meanwhile, there were 10% fewer passengers travelling on charter flights.
The number of cars put into circulation for the first time went down 5% year on year to 172,000 in Q1-Q3, the KSH added. Out of these vehicles, the most were Suzuki, Opel and Ford makings."
